On March 23, 2009 more than 300 Dentists from Region IV including guests, delegates and trade exhibitors were at the Quezon Margarette Hotel in Lucena City for the Colgate Southern Tagalog Regional Conference. The event was hosted by the Quezon Province Dental Chapter headed by its President, Dr. Gladys N. Nantes and with Dr. Jovie P. Grafilo as Chairperson.

The event was made possible in partnership with Colgate-Palmolive Philippines, Inc. and the Philippine Dental Association. Representatives were Colgate Professional Relations Manager - Dr. Angel "Bong" David II, Dr. Leo de Castro (PDA President), Dr. Ma. Isabel Brual (PDA President Elect), and Dr. Boy Jimeez (PDA Trustee and CPE Chair).

Topics on Systemic Health and living a healthy lifestyle were just some of the topics discussed by the resource speakers namely Drs. Vivian Virata, Victor "JV" Gregorio, Luinio S. Tongson and Joselito I. Atabug.

Delegates from nearby Provinces of Region IV (including Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, Batangas, Mindoro, Marinduque, Palawan, Romblon, etc.) renewed acquaintances, camaraderie and fellowship with each other during the event. The lectures gave the participants better understanding and appreciation for the event. The huge success of the conference was made possible by Colgate-Palmolive, Inc as its sponsor and partner.

"Take a moment of your precious time to think, look back and weigh things. Life is beautiful yet mysterious. Life is happy but with moments of sadness. Somehow, adding all of your burden and difficulties may not as big as we might think. We are just creating a mountain out of a handful of sand. Somehow, what we need is 'A True Appreciation of Life', we should learn to appreciate things ... appreciate people around us. We should appreciate life and be thankful for its blessings." Such was the theme of the recently held Colgate Southern Tagalog Regional Conference.
