360 Degrees Total Perspective Forum for First Year Dentistry Students

 
 

Ten freshmen Dentistry students from the Northwestern Lyceum, including two mentors, went up to the City of Baguio to take part in a dental orientation seminar sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive Philippines, Inc.


A solemn prayer was led by the Dean of L-NU College of Dentistry, Dr. Evangeline F. Padlan to officially open the events of the day. The seminar was hosted by Dr. Ian Steve Bandaay.


Dr. Victoria Ramolete, Dean of the University of Baguio, welcomed the guests and students and acknowledged the presence of several universities in attendance: The Lyceum?Northwestern University, Pines City Educational Center and the Virgen Milagrosa University.


The opening message was delivered by Ms. Jac Saez?Abadia, the Program Manager for Dental Schools and Community of Colgate-Palmolive Philippines, Inc. She mentioned about the different scholarship grants being given by their well-respected company. These are being offered to deserving students who can manage to stay and finish dentistry.


Dr. Arturo P. De Leon, the Dean of the University of Fatima and the special adviser of the Philippine Association of Dental Colleges, opened the roster of speakers for the day. He wowed and inspired the students with his talk.


He was then followed by Dr. Crispin Ramos, past president of the Baguio City Dental Society and former Dean of the University of Baguio. He enlightened the young minds to persevere and continue with the noble profession of Dentistry in the service of the people.


Dental students of the University of Baguio excited the crowd alive with their outstanding dance performance followed by an open forum session. Several questions asked by the students were earnestly answered by the two guest speakers. Student who participated during the open forum were given giftpacks from Colgate-Palmolive as tokens for their interaction. The students also evaluated the two speakers who persuaded and made an impact about their personal views in the dental field.


Everyone joined in putting their signatures on the large tarpaulin ?Commitment Wall?. This signifies that the freshmen students are committed to pursue and finish their course and serve the community in partnership with Colgate-Palmolive Philippines.
