In order to motivate the freshmen students of the University of Baguio to continue with Dentistry as their profession, the UB College of Dentistry hosted the "360º Total Perspective Forum" for First Year Dentistry Students. This year´s theme "Hear, Heed, Live, Learn & Be Inspired" was sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive Philippines, Inc., the longtime partner of the Philippine Association of Dental Colleges in Oral Health Education.

Four Dental Schools of Northern Luzon, namely: Lyceum Northwestern University (headed by Dean Evangeline Padlan), Pines City Educational Colleges (headed by Dr. Juliana R. Estacio), Virgen Milagrosa University (led by Dr. Cherry R. Gabiola) and the University of Baguio (headed by Dean Victoria Aloot Ramolete) participated in the forum last June 30, 2009 at the UB Review Center.

Two dynamic speakers inspired the freshmen. First of which was Dean Arturo P. De Leon of the University of Fatima and Special Adviser of Philippine Association of Dental Colleges who talked about Dentistry as a Profession. He gave life to a new definition for LILAC: "Live It Like A Calling" and encouraged the students to learn to put values in their work and focus on their chosen career. "To be inspired is to learn to hear with your heart and serve to live your profession like a calling."

Dr. Crispin A. Ramos, Jr. (past Dean of the College of Dentistry, University of Baguio and past President of Baguio City Dental Chapter) talked about "360º Total Perspective: Full Circle of a career in Dentistry". Dr. Ramos motivated the audience with 4-A´s: ASPIRE, APPROVE, ASSUME and AFFIRM. He encouraged the freshmen students to spark the desire on their dreams and fuel it with whatever that triggers them to keep being motivated. To quote, Dr. Ramos said, "You should put in mind that you deserve the best. Your mentors want you to improve their work and become the best, for they believe that you, the Freshmen Dentistry Students can do it. Whatever you do, achieve more, aim high and impress yourself."

Colgate?Palmolive Philippines was represented by Ms. Jac Saez-Abadia, Program Manager for Dental Schools and Community. The generous sponsor gave away freebies to the participants and students who raised questions during the session. The open forum was moderated by Dr. Ruthgar B. Tecson, Head for Academic Instruction, College of Dentistry, University of Baguio.
